Nominations will be made in July and the session begins in September.  Below are the steps to apply:

Step 1: Submit completed application to Planning Council Staff (PCS) by:


Mail: 1010 Mass Ave,  2nd Floor, Boston, 02118

Step 2: PCS staff will review the applications. New members should demonstrate:

  1. Ability to help planning Council reflect the demographics of the local PLWHA community.
  2. Ability to fulfill membership requirements.
  3. Ability to come to meetings with an open mind, learn and contribute to the Planning Council.

Step 3:  PCS staff will contact applicants and schedule interviews.

Step 4: After the interviews are completed, all applications are forwarded to the Membership and Nominations Committee.

Step 5: The Membership and Nominations Committee will review the applications and interview summaries. The will officially nominate applicants make a recommendation on the list of candidates. This list will be send to the Mayor of Boston, who is the CEO of the Ryan White Part A grant.  

Step 6: The Mayor of Boston makes the final decision and appointment of all members of the Planning Council.

Step 7: Applicants will be notified by email or by phone on their selection. For the individuals who were not selected, PCS staff will provide options for other ways to get involved with the Council.

Step 8: All selected members will be scheduled to attend a mandatory orientation and training in September.
