The Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) offers case management for Tuberculosis (TB) cases, including Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) for Boston residents diagnosed with TB. BPHC also operates a TB Clinic, located at Boston Medical Center (BMC) that offers both diagnostic and therapeutic services for TB. TB related educational materials are available as well as information on the epidemiology of TB in Boston.

Massachusetts state regulations require that cases of TB disease (“active TB”) and latent TB must be reported to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH). MDPH forwards all cases in Boston residents to the BPHC for follow up. Epidemiologic analysis and reports on TB in Boston are available by calling the BPHC CDC Division at (617) 534-5611.
Case Management Services
BPHC Communicable Disease Control Division public health services provide case management for Boston residents diagnosed with TB disease ("active TB"). These services include medication administration and monitoring, patient education, and contact investigations as indicated. For questions about case management services, please call (617)534-5611.
BPHC Tuberculosis Clinic
Comprehensive tuberculosis (TB) diagnostic services, treatment, and monitoring for persons with TB are available at the BPHC TB Clinic. Confidential HIV counseling and testing, indicated as part of TB case, is available during clinic sessions.

Healthcare providers can refer their patients to the Boston Public Health Commission Tuberculosis Clinic. Providers must complete a Tuberculosis Referral Form and fax the form to (617) 534-4976.
