Application Process: How to Join the Planning Council
Step 1: Give a completed application to Planning Council Staff (PCS) by the following methods:

Step 2: PCS staff will review the applications and compare it against current Planning Council recruitment needs which includes:
- Ability to help planning Council reflect the demographics of the local PLWHA community.
- Ability to fulfill membership requirements.
- Ability to come to meetings with an open mind, learn and contribute to the Planning Council.
Step 3: After the application has been compared against current Planning Council recruitment needs, PCS staff will conduct interviews.
Step 4: After the interviews are completed, all applications are forwarded to the Nominations Committee.
Step 5: The Nominations Committee will decide who will be a good fit for the Planning Council and make a recommendation on the list of candidates and pass the nomination to the Mayor.
Step 6: The Mayor of Boston makes the final decision and appointment of all members of the Planning Council.
Step 7: PCS staff will notify the members by email or by phone on their selection. For the individuals who were not selected they will be provided with options for other ways to get involved with the Council.
