Americans are consuming more and more sugar. Sugary beverages, like sodas, sports drinks, sweetened tea, coffee drinks, and energy drinks are the single biggest source of added sugar in our diets. Sugary beverages – also known as sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) are a source of extra calories, yet have no nutrients. Drinking too much sugary drinks can lead to obesity and other chronic diseases.
