STRATEGIC ALLIANCE FOR HEALTH

The Strategic Alliance for Health (SAH) is a 4-year initiative funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The purpose ​of SAH is to create healthier communities through sustainable, innovative, evidence and practice-based community health promotion and chronic disease prevention programs that promote policy, systems, and environmental change. SAH focuses on building local capacity in several areas, including: the promotion physical activity and nutrition; capacity building for communities to be able to institute systems, environmental, organizational and policy changes related to these health risk factors; the elimination of racial and ethnic health disparities; and the reduction of complications from and incidence of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity.
