The South Boston Neighborhood House serves dinner to children. Staff noticed that there wasn't much variety in the fruit and vegetables delivered by the vendor. When the director contacted the vendor to ask for a more diverse selection of fruits, the vendor was very receptive and happily obliged. The South Boston Neighborhood House now serves green beans, peas, melon, and strawberries in addition to the previous options of broccoli, corn, apples and oranges. The children seem to like the new variety and are eating more fruits and vegetables than before. The program has received positive feedback from parents who never thought their children would eat- and actually enjoy- fruits and vegetables!
