Outpatient Services

The MOM'S Project provides comprehensive and intensive outpatient addiction treatment and case management to female residents of Boston, particularly those who are most vulnerable.

The Mom's Project is an outpatient treatment program that provides culturally sensitive substance abuse services. Women are not required to have children to participate. The MORE program also provides services to women mandated to treatment by court or the Department of Children and Families.

Men's Health and Recovery is a short-term outpatient substance abuse counseling program with supportive case management for adult males in Boston. The Program opened in the Fall of 2008 and is staffed by former clinicians and case managers from the Commission's Father Friendly Initiative.

Safe and Sound Recovery Center provides peer-led, outpatient substance use services. These services include recovery coaching & planning, access to peer-led recovery support center, substance abuse groups, and peer leadership training opportunities.

The engagement center pilot is a welcoming environment for individuals in need of a space to spend time during the day. In addition to providing a shaded, air-conditioned indoor space off the streets and sidewalks, the engagement center will also serve as a space for participants to get connected to the many housing and recovery services offered by the City of Boston and partners in the Newmarket Square area.

The engagement center will offer a range of basic amenities and comfort items, such as clean bathroom facilities, water, coffee, and light snacks. Amenities including quiet space and workstations will also be available to participants. Staff from the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) and partner organizations will routinely rotate through the engagement center. These staff will offer services and support for substance use recovery, permanent and supportive housing, mental and behavioral health conditions, and more.

Part of the South Boston Collaborative Center, the South Boston Outpatient Clinic is an Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment program providing substance abuse treatment to adults and adolescents. Formerly a program of the South Boston Health Center, the clinic joined the Bureau beginning on January 1, 2009.
