COMMUNITY MOBILIZATION

Get involved!
There are many ways to get involved with the APTRSS Bureau Prevention Office. Please contact Rebecca Bishop if you are interested in mobilizing substance abuse efforts in your community.

Host a Safe Storage and Disposal Event!
Prescription drug disposal kiosks are located at every Boston Police Department District Station across the City. Spread the work in your community or host an awareness event by disseminating BPHC materials.

Schedule an Overdose Prevention Training!
Overdose prevention training is available to the Boston Community.  We schedule trainings with treatment providers, families, law enforcement, hospitals, health centers, housing developments, sober homes, and correctional facilities at request.

Join a Coalition!
The Neighborhoods Organizing Against Drugs (NoDrugs) Initiative funds 13 coalitions to carry out substance abuse prevention activities in local neighborhoods. The Coalitions aid the Community Prevention Services Program in selecting additional or new priority areas for prevention initiatives in Boston. Further, the Coalitions serve as the Bureau’s vital community partners; we rely on them as our eyes and ears on the ground for ongoing substance abuse concerns.

If you are interested in joining a coalition, please email Rebecca Bishop at rbishop@bphc.org.
