The Boston Public Health Commission Tuberculosis Clinic provides public health services related to prevention and control of tuberculosis (TB) in the city of Boston. The Tuberculosis Clinic provides diagnostic and therapeutic clinical services for tuberculosis, at no charge to the individual. To ensure that timely services remain available for persons at highest risk for TB, particularly those who are symptomatic, routine TB skin testing is not offered at the TB clinic for persons not at risk for TB.
Massachusetts state regulations require that cases of TB and latent TB must be reported to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH). MDPH forwards all cases in Boston residents to the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) for follow up. Epidemiologic analysis and reports on TB in Boston are available by calling the BPHC CDC Division at (617) 534-5611.
Comprehensive tuberculosis (TB) diagnostic services, treatment, and monitoring for persons with TB are available at the BPHC TB Clinic. All services, including medications, are provided at no charge to the individual. Confidential HIV counseling and testing, indicated as part of TB case, is available during clinic sessions.
