Mission Statement: Building on the Commission’s two hundred years of leadership in the public health field, the Infectious Disease Bureau strives to reduce the impact of infectious diseases, prevent the morbidity associated with these diseases, and create healthier lives for the residents of Boston.
Work within the Infectious Disease Bureau includes surveillance, investigation of cases and outbreaks, providing funding for a continuum of HIV care through funds received under the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act, providing community and provider education related to HIV and other communicable diseases, and operating a tuberculosis clinic.
The four parts that make up the Infectious Disease Bureau are: the Communicable Disease Control Division, the HIV/AIDS Services Division, the Education & Outreach Office, and the TB Clinic.
RECOMMENDED VACCINATION SCHEDULES:
The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recently released their annual recommendations for routine use of vaccines in children, adolescents, and adults in the United States. These recommendations provide the most up to date information on how to keep people of all ages on schedule with their vaccinations so that they can lead as healthy a life as possible. Check out our new links below which provide the most recent vaccine schedules! They're great resources for both providers and patients alike.
