TRAINING INFORMATION

Training is provided for all Medical Reserve Corps members free of charge by the DelValle Institute for Emergency Preparedness. Volunteers must be registered for courses prior to attending. Please check the monthly newsletter for registration links.

Orientation
Orientation
is mandatory for all new members. At this hour and a half session, you will learn about the important role of the Boston MRC, why and how volunteers are activated, and how to prepare yourself and your family for an emergency.  Upon completion of this Orientation session, you will be considered a response-ready volunteer!

Core Courses
These 5 recommended courses build upon concepts introduced in the Orientation and are fundamental concepts and skills encountered by all Boston MRC volunteers. Each course will be offered twice per year so that all volunteers have the opportunity to attend.

    - Managing a Mass Dispensing Clinic
    - Promoting Resiliency in an Emergency: Psychological First Aid
    - Patient Tracking in Mass Casualty Events

Special Topics Courses
Aimed to engage volunteers in between deployments and volunteer opportunities, unique special topics courses will be offered at the end of each month throughout the year. Topics this year include:
