About the Barbershop Oral Health Initiative
The Barbershop Oral Health Initiative is a barbershop-based, client-driven approach to oral health education and health promotion for African American and Latino men and their families. Barbers and stylists receive training on oral health issues and share information with their clients. Through this initiative, we seek to identify clients at risk for oral health complications, and encourage preventative care.
Partners in the Barbershop Oral Health Initiative include:§ Boston Public Health Commission Outreach Division and Office of Oral Health§ Dimock Community Health Center § Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine§ Harvard School of Dental Medicine
