About the Barbershop Oral Health Initiative

The Barbershop Oral Health Initiative is a barbershop-based, client-driven approach to oral health education and health promotion for African American and Latino men and their families. Barbers and stylists receive training on oral health issues and share information with their clients. Through this initiative, we seek to identify clients at risk for oral health complications, and encourage preventative care.
