The Mom’s Project and Moving on to Recovery & Empowerment (MORE) Program provide comprehensive and intensive outpatient addiction treatment and case management to female residents of Boston, particularly those who are most vulnerable.
The Mom's Project is a 12-week outpatient treatment program that provides culturally sensitive substance abuse services. Women are not required to have children to participate.
MORE is a structured two-to-six-month Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program that provides culturally sensitive substance abuse services for women. It is a place for women in need of support throughout the process of recovering from addiction. The MORE program also provides services to women mandated to treatment by court or the Department of Children and Families.
Safe and Sound Return is a special program at the Mom's Project offering supportive case management and services for the special needs of women reentering the community from incarceration.

Spirituality in Recovery
Enhancing spiritual supports and resources in the recovery process
Women’s Leadership Training Institute
Developing leadership and advocacy skills to empower women in recovery
Trauma Recovery
Healing from experiences of trauma while managing the challenges of addiction
Economic Success in Recovery
Developing effective money management skills and identifying opportunities to achieve economic independence
SISTA
Culturally sensitive HIV education & risk reduction methods for high risk women
Population Served
The program serves adult women in metropolitan Boston; however, many of our clients are women of color or ex-offenders. Our programming is based on evidence-based models, which have proven successful in providing culturally sensitive services to vulnerable populations who have been historically hard to engage in treatment.
Eligibility Requirements:
- 18 years of age
- Resident of Boston or surrounding neighborhoods
- A history of substance abuse or active use with the intention of seeking treatment
