Take the Boston Steps to Health Challenge Walk

Fifth Annual NeighborWalk Celebration and Walk
Saturday, June 7
8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Jamaica Pond, Jamaica Plain

The Celebration is a public, free event that promotes walking as an easy, healthy, and sociable way to get more physical activity into our daily lives. Last year, more than 430 people walked. All participants who walk at least one loop will receive a certificate of participation. Challenge yourself to walk the circuit around beautiful Jamaica Pond one, two, three, or four times! The event will be interpreted in Spanish.
  • Awards, Giveaways, and Raffles
  • Steel Drum Band
  • Children’s Activities: Face Painting and Balloon Hats
  • Fitness and Healthy Eating Demonstrations
  • Refreshments

We encourage everyone to form a walk team for the day. Teams can be made of family, neighbors, colleagues…or come as individuals.

NeighborWalk Walking Groups
The NeighborWalk campaign organizes residents to walk in their neighborhoods at least once a week for 30 to 60 minutes. The walks not only promote physical activity but also are an opportunity for residents to meet new people and show community spirit.

Please Note: At this time, NeighborWalk groups are available in the following neighborhoods: Chinatown, Dorchester, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Roxbury, South Boston and South End.

Follow the links below to find a walking group or event in your neighborhood. For questions and information contact Boston STEPS at (617) 534-5690.
