Groundwork Somerville (GWS) is an environmental 501(c)3 non-profit organization that promotes sustainable community development and revitalization by creating opportunities for healthy EDUCATION, green JOBS, and sustainable COMMUNITY. Through the support of the Boston Public Health Commission REACH US CEED, GWS is engaging residents in Community Corridor Planning (CCP) coalition—an effort to promote equitable transit and green space development. This grassroots initiative engages Somerville residents, especially residents of color, to lead community planning processes that will have a profound effect on their health and lives. CCP is a non-profit coalition committed to resident participation in planning for a livable, equitable Somerville.
