Safe Shops Tool Kit

toolkitFor more than three years, the Safe Shops Project has partnered with auto repair and body shops, community groups, health centers, and city agencies to address health disparities in communities that are overburdened with toxic chemical exposure. By providing these agencies with valuable resources at no cost, such as environmental and workplace safety trainings, health screenings, and financial and technical assistance, we help to build partnerships between residents and their auto shop neighbors.

The Safe Shops Tool Kit provides other communities, who are also working toward goals of environmental health and pollution prevention in auto shops, the tools and resources necessary to start or complement current initiatives. The purpose of this Tool Kit is to describe the Safe Shops outreach strategies and successes and provide the resources to help neighborhoods pro-actively address auto shop pollution prevention.

The Tool Kit is divided into topics ranging from the "Safe Shops Case Study" to "Providing Incentives." Materials provided in the Tool Kit include flyers, educational and outreach materials, and other useful resources. Links to all resource documents can be found on the right hand sidebar of each topic page.

You may also download the entire Safe Shops Tool Kit document package in one *zip file and customize it for your own use if you choose.
