Proposed Amendments to Tobacco Control Regulations
The Boston Public Health Commission is accepting written comments on the proposed amendments to Boston's Tobacco Control Regulations. A copy of the proposed amendments may be obtained by clicking here or by calling 617-534-5855. The proposed amendments would remove an exemption for mint and menthol flavored tobacco and nicotine from existing flavored tobacco sales restrictions; increase accountability and youth access restrictions for 21+ adult-only establishments by strengthening front door retailer ID checking requirements and restricting the sale of products that attract young people. You can view a copy of a presentation to the Board of Health on this topic from staff at BPHC here.
