Parking Information
In addition to limited on-street parking, visitors and staff of the Boston Public Health Commission may park in the parking lot located on the corner of Massachusetts Ave and Magazine St. The parking lot entrance is located on Magazine St. and the fee for parking ranges from $2 (less than 30 min) up to $5 for the whole day.

From the North

Public Transportation
The Commission’s offices at 35 Northampton Square, the Miranda-Creamer Building, and the Finland Building are accessible by MBTA Buses 1, 8, 10, 47, 49, CT1, and CT3. The buildings are adjacent to Boston Medical Center, which is located at the corner of Albany Street and Massachusetts Avenue.

Follow directions to 35 Northampton Street.
From the Garage (35 Northampton St.)
As you enter the garage there will be a large black door on your far right. Exit the garage through
that door and take elevator to the 4th floor. The DelValle institute will be through a set of double doors on your right.
From the Street (725 Mass Ave)
Take elevator to the 2nd floor. Take a right out of the elevator. Take a right through the 1st set of double doors. Walk through the glass corridor. Take a left out of the corridor and go past the fitness center. Take a left at the end of the hall. Boston EMS/ DelValle Institute will be directly through two sets of double doors.

The O’Neill Conference Room
As you enter the DelValle Institute, the O’Neill Conference Room will be at the end of the Hall.
Room 411
As you enter the DelValle Institute, Room 411 is immediately on your left.
Room 602
Take the elevator to the 6th Floor, Room 602 will be the first right after a set of double doors.

From Downtown Boston:
Take the Southeast Expressway (Route 93 South) to Exit 11B to Route 203 (Granite Ave/Ashmont). Proceed a half-mile to Gallivan Blvd. Turn left on Gallivan Blvd and drive for .8 miles. Turn left on Washington Street and continue .4 miles. Take right on River Street. After .4 miles, the campus is on your right.
Public Transportation:
Located near the Dorchester/Milton Lower Mills section Boston, the Mattapan Campus of the Boston Public Health Commission is accessible by public transportation from two directions. You can take the Red Line to Ashmont Station in Dorchester. From Ashmont, pick up the No.27 bus which stops at the Campus entrance. The distance is approximately one-quarter mile from Ashmont.
Alternatively, from Dudley Square, in Roxbury, the No.28 or No.29 bus will take you to Mattapan Square and from the Mattapan T station you can also pick up the No.27 bus which goes to the campus entrance. The distance from Mattapan Sq to the campus coming from this direction is approximately 1 mile.
Directions to the Family Justice Center, 989 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston
The FJC is located near the intersection of Commonwealth Ave. and Babcock St., one block west of Boston University's Agganis Arena and next door to the MATCH School.
By the "T": Take the Green Line "B" train (Boston College) to either the Pleasant Street or the Babcock Street stop; both are less than one block from the FJC.
On the MBTA Bus: Take any of the following bus routes to Kenmore Square: 8, 57, 60, 65, 8A. At Kenmore Square, transfer to the outbound "B" train (see "T" directions above) or take the 57 bus towards Watertown Yard and get off at the Brighton Ave. stop (near Shaw's supermarket). Walk a few blocks east, toward downtown Boston.
Parking: Metered parking is available on the street. Ask about special parking for clients at the front desk.
Driving:
From the North
- Take I-93 or Route 1 South to Boston. Exit onto Storrow Drive.
- Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore Square Exit.
- At the first set of lights, turn right onto Beacon Street.
- Bear right at the far end of Kenmore Square onto Commonwealth Avenue.
- Continue on Commonwealth Avenue to 989 Commonwealth Ave (approximately 1 mile).
From the South
- Take I-93 Route 3 (Southeast Expressway) North to Boston. Exit onto Storrow Drive.
- Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore Square Exit.
- At the first set of lights, turn right onto Beacon Street.
- Bear right at the far end of Kenmore Square onto Commonwealth Avenue.
- Continue on Commonwealth Avenue to 989 Commonwealth Ave (approximately 1 mile).
From the West
- Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) East. Take Exit 18 on the left (Brighton/Cambridge).
- Follow Signs to Cambridge. At the second set of lights, turn right.
- Continue on Storrow Drive to the Kenmore Square Exit.
- At the first set of lights, turn right onto Beacon Street.
- Bear right at the far end of Kenmore Square onto Commonwealth Avenue.
- Continue on Commonwealth Avenue to 989 Commonwealth Ave (approximately 1 mile).
Directions to Long Island Shelter
From Downtown Boston:
Take the Mass Pike to 93 South to Exit 12 (Neponset/Quincy/3A). Exit ramp proceeds back under 93. Bear to the right onto bridge, following signs for 3A. At top of bridge, bear to left, following signs for Squantum. After about 3/4 mile, take left at stoplight (Dunkin Donuts) and follow that road for about 1 mile (keeping water on your left). Pass through security check and proceed over causeway and bridge for 3+ miles. Turn left into parking lot near large red & white water tower. Park near basketball court.
The Long Island Shelter is the three-story building closest to the water and down the hill from the parking lot. The main office is the first office on the right on the first floor.
Public Transportation:
Take the MBTA red line to the JFK T stop. An employee/client shuttle stops on the street outside that train station. The shuttle is typically a white 12 passenger van with “Boston Public Health Commission” on the side. Contact (617) 534-2526 Ext. 300 to determine shuttle schedules.
