DIVISION OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND ADVOCACY

The Division of Civic Engagement and Advocacy promotes the health, equity, and the reduction of mortality and morbidity related to preventable diseases and conditions. We provide technical assistance, training, and support for local community coalitions and individuals; policy development; community education; and outreach programs.. The five programs in the Division respond to community requests, promote face-to-face interaction with residents and conduct community needs assessments. The Division supports Bureau programs concentrating on serving underserved and hard-to-reach populations who may be disenfranchised from the health care delivery system. The Division helps identify barriers to care and treatment and advocates for system change.
