Today, the Board of Election Commissioners for the City of Boston released plans for tomorrow’s 2011 Municipal Election.
Voters will be electing four At- Large City Councillors from a field of seven candidates. All nine District City Council seats are also on the ballot.
A total of 347,353 registered voters are eligible to participate in this election. There will be approximately 1,500 election officers assigned to Boston’s 254 voting precincts, which are housed at 152 locations. The polls in Boston open at 7:00 AM and close at 8:00 PM.
Boston’s ballots are printed in English and Spanish across the City. In precincts where there is a need, English/Chinese and English/Vietnamese ballots will be available. Nearly 400 election officers speak one or more languages in addition to English, including Chinese (both Mandarin and Cantonese dialects), Vietnamese, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole and Russian.
